FTDI the manufacturer of the
FTDI FT232RL USB chip used in KM7 has drivers as well as comprehensive guides to
install those drivers in all the applicable Operating Systems.
There is not a lot more I can add about drivers that
FTDI don't cover in their USB driver guides except to WARN YOU
You should install the FTDI
drivers BEFORE you connect your KM7 to a PC.
Temptation is to just plug it
in and Windows knows all about it.
WRONG!
If you let it (Automatically) Windows will install some
drivers, but they are old and not the best drivers.
Best to install FTDI DRIVERS
FIRST before you plug your KM7 into a PC USB port and then follow
the FTDI instructions, DO NOT just blindly say OK to everything Windows
suggests.
All you need to install on your
PC, MAC or Linux Personal Computer is;
USB
drivers
for
the FTDI FT232R USB chip,

Plug
in your Mini USB cable into your KM7 and plug the other end of your USB
cable into the USB port of a PC or Laptop that is Switched ON.
You
turn ON your KM7 by sliding the power Switch to the right as per the image
above.
You
should the see the Green Power LED light up and stay ON.
You
should see a few quick flashes of the Red TX and RX LEDs
Your
KM7 is switched ON and ready to go.
To
Switch your KM7 OFF slide the Power Switch to the LEFT and the Green
Power LED will turn off.
